SUVIA / PRODUCT PRIVACY

Suvia Product Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Suvia 1.0 distributed through the Mac App Store. It explains when the app reads the screen, what stays on your device, when it connects to an AI provider you choose, and how StoreKit, the trial, and model downloads work.

Scope and processing principles

Suvia 1.0 does not require a Suvia account and includes no developer account system, activation codes, independent payment flow, advertising, cross-app tracking, or usage-analytics SDK. Website visits are covered by the separate Website Privacy Notice.

Suvia automatically recognizes one short line near the pointer, not a paragraph or whole document. It creates no persistent translation history and does not upload screenshots, OCR content, source text, translations, personal glossary entries, or user-supplied AI API keys to the Suvia operator.

Unless you actively contact support by email, the Suvia operator receives no user content, contact information, identifiers, usage data, or diagnostic data from the App Store version and does not track users. To cover the possibility that a user-selected AI provider retains authorized text and links it through the user's API key, the App Store disclosure conservatively lists “Other User Content · App Functionality · Linked to the User · Not Used for Tracking.” Later changes will be reflected in this policy and the App Store disclosure before release.

02

Screen Recording and Accessibility

When follow translation is enabled and recognition is triggered, Suvia uses macOS Screen Recording permission to capture the area near the pointer for that OCR task. Accessibility permission helps locate nearby interface content and carry out interactions you explicitly invoke. These permissions do not cause Suvia to upload your full screen or continuously record activity.

The task screenshot is passed in memory to Apple's Vision OCR and then released. It is not written to disk or added to history. You can revoke permissions in macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security; the related follow features will then stop working.

Screen Recording
Capture the nearby region for a single OCR task
Accessibility
Locate nearby interface content and support user-invoked interaction
Network
StoreKit, models you choose to download, and online translation you configure
03

On-device processing and local data

System OCR, instant translation, local dictionaries, system translation, and installed offline models process the current phrase on device. Personal glossary entries, language directions, interface preferences, AI service configuration, and downloaded models remain in the app container. AI API keys remain in macOS Keychain.

After you actively claim the trial and StoreKit verifies it, the app stores Apple's verified original purchase date and the most recent check time in local preferences and Keychain to calculate the seven-day period and mitigate local clock rollback. These local records are not sent to a Suvia server.

AI results may enter an in-memory cache of no more than 128 entries for up to about 15 minutes to avoid immediate duplicate requests. It is never written to disk and disappears on expiry or when the app exits. Uninstalling may not remove Keychain items or local preferences automatically; remove them in app settings or Keychain Access.

04

AI refinement and independent providers

Only when you enable the Cloud Precise route or explicitly invoke one-shot AI refinement does Suvia call the provider you configured with your API key. By default, the request contains the current short phrase and necessary language parameters. It goes directly to your provider, not through a Suvia server, and is governed by that provider's privacy, retention, and transfer practices.

If context-assisted refinement is available, a separate authorization screen appears before transmission. Only after you confirm may it add up to about 700 characters of nearby text and up to 20 matching local glossary entries. You may send only the current phrase or cancel. Suvia never sends screenshots, a full page, desktop files, or translation history to an AI provider.

05

App Store, trial, and Pro purchase

The app is free to download, and the trial does not start automatically on first launch. On the Pro page, you may actively claim the Price Tier 0 non-consumable “7-day Trial.” It starts only after StoreKit verifies the transaction, uses the original purchase date supplied by Apple, and can be claimed once per Apple Account. It does not charge, subscribe, renew, or start a paid purchase when it ends. Permanent Pro unlocks only after you separately confirm its one-time App Store purchase.

Apple StoreKit handles product loading, payment, transaction verification, current entitlements, and purchase restoration. The Suvia operator does not receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple ID password. The app reads only StoreKit-verified product, purchase, and entitlement status on device and does not send it to a Suvia server.

Trial
User-initiated Price Tier 0 non-consumable; seven days with no automatic charge
Purchase
Non-consumable Pro in-app purchase; no subscription
Restore
App Store sync only after a user action
Payment
Handled by Apple; Suvia receives no card information
06

Product network connections

Suvia 1.0 connects only to StoreKit for products and entitlements, to a model host when you choose to download an offline model, to the AI provider you configure and enable, and to privacy, terms, or support pages you open.

A model download lets the hosting service receive network information needed to deliver the file, such as IP address, request time, and file path. The request carries no screenshot, OCR text, glossary entry, or translation history. We do not bundle-upload local glossaries, desktop files, screenshots, or complete reading content to train Suvia models.

07

Support contact and optional diagnostics

The app does not automatically send support or diagnostic information. The operator receives your sender email address, message, and any files you choose to attach only after you open the email entry and confirm sending in your system mail app. Copyable diagnostics generated by the app exclude screenshots, recognized source text, translations, Apple Account passwords, payment information, and API keys by default. You should still review and redact unnecessary personal information before sending.

This information is used only to answer inquiries, diagnose faults, handle complaints, and improve the issue concerned—not for advertising or tracking. Email service providers may process transmission and storage under their own service terms. The operator normally retains a support exchange for no more than 180 days after the issue closes, except where a dispute, security need, or legal duty requires longer retention. You may use the privacy email to request access, correction, or deletion of information still controlled by the operator.

08

Retention, deletion, and exit

Task screenshots and OCR intermediates exist only in memory for the recognition task; source and translated text do not become persistent history. The AI memory cache expires within the 15-minute limit described above. Apple manages App Store transaction records.

You manage local glossaries, settings, models, trial records, and Keychain credentials on your device. Remove them through app settings, Finder, or Keychain Access. The App Store version has no Suvia product account, so there is no Suvia account to close.

09

Independent services, sharing, and transfers

Apple independently processes App Store account, payment, and transaction services; the model host independently handles model downloads; and your selected AI provider independently handles each authorized translation request. These services are not necessarily affiliated with, jointly operated by, or endorsed by Suvia.

The Suvia operator does not sell personal information or share app data with data brokers, advertising platforms, or analytics services. Selecting an overseas AI provider or model host may involve cross-border transfer; review that service's policy and retention controls before use.

10

Security, your choices, and children

We use on-demand permissions, App Sandbox, HTTPS, macOS Keychain, isolated local storage, and minimized network requests. You may revoke Screen Recording or Accessibility permission, disable AI, and delete API keys or local models at any time.

Contact Suvia for information or an explanation about operator-controlled practices. App Store account, purchase, and refund requests should go to Apple; requests concerning third-party AI data should go to the selected provider. The product is not directed to children under 14.

11

Policy updates and contact

If permissions, data categories, AI request scope, or provider arrangements materially change, we will update the date and notify you prominently in the product or on the website. Where renewed consent is required, it will be obtained before the new processing begins.
